Deck & stair painting
Deck painting & repair in Chicago
Boards, rails, balusters and stairs repainted top to bottom, with rotted wood fixed first.
A deck takes sun, rain, snow and foot traffic every day of the year. We repaint decks top to bottom: boards, rails, balusters, posts and every stair tread, and we fix the trim and wood problems that show up along the way.
What we do
- Deck boards painted
- Rails, balusters and posts
- Stair runs and treads
- High rails worked from the ladder
- Rotted trim cut out and rebuilt
- Clean-up when we're done
How we work
- Free on-site estimate, and Larry walks it himself
- A written price before work starts, and the price on paper is the price you pay
- Floors and furniture protected, and the site cleaned up when we leave
- A final walk-through with you before the job is called done

Deck & stair repaint
A raised wood deck with two stair runs, repainted top to bottom: deck boards, rails, balusters, posts and every tread.

Rotted exterior trim repair
A rotted corner on the back of a house, where the second-floor overhang meets the soffit. We tore out the bad wood, built the corner back with new trim and painted it to match.
Questions
When is the best time to paint a deck?
Late spring through early fall, on dry days, when temperatures are in the range on the paint can. In Chicago, aim to finish before the cold sets in.
Can you fix soft or rotted boards?
Yes. Soft spots should be cut out and replaced before painting, or the paint will fail there first.
How long before we can walk on it?
It depends on the product and the weather. Larry will tell you before he leaves when it's safe to walk on and when furniture can go back.
